Yasiel Puig and the Japanese Sumo Culture Somehow Make a Perfect Match
It's never a bad idea to check in on some of the more unusual off-season workout programs used by professional athletes.
You may recall Josh Norman running with the bulls in Spain and the now former Redskins head coach Jay Gruden mocking him afterwards.
Well, we're fairly certain that Yasiel Puig won't be trifled with in any way, particularly after his visit to Japan.
Our favorite Cuban ballplayer has embraced the sumo culture, for good or ill.
Let's have a look at Puig preparing for the upcoming MLB season in a perfectly normal fashion:
Meanwhile, let’s check in on Yasiel Puig training with Sumo wrestlers in Japan.... never change @YasielPuig, never change. pic.twitter.com/nNe95RBNV7

Even with the actual sumo wrestler mailing that performance in just a bit, this is further evidence that Yasiel Puig is a very strong dude.
Obviously, the emotional outfielder was immersed in sumo culture in his native Cuba, but it's still pretty darn cool.
Others are also impressed, including former Reds teammate Joey Votto:
hmm anyone wonder what @YasielPuig is up to?

Well if you guessed "sumo wrestling in Japan", you are correct #MyFriend pic.twitter.com/uWc6XYQGhi
Actually, that would be evil Joey Votto.
Whatever the case, MLB needs to brace itself:
