Yasiel Puig and the Japanese Sumo Culture Somehow Make a Perfect Match

It's never a bad idea to check in on some of the more unusual off-season workout programs used by professional athletes.

You may recall Josh Norman running with the bulls in Spain and the now former Redskins head coach Jay Gruden mocking him afterwards.

Well, we're fairly certain that Yasiel Puig won't be trifled with in any way, particularly after his visit to Japan.

Our favorite Cuban ballplayer has embraced the sumo culture, for good or ill.

 

Let's have a look at Puig preparing for the upcoming MLB season in a perfectly normal fashion:

 

Even with the actual sumo wrestler mailing that performance in just a bit, this is further evidence that Yasiel Puig is a very strong dude.

Obviously, the emotional outfielder was immersed in sumo culture in his native Cuba, but it's still pretty darn cool.

Actually, that would be evil Joey Votto.

Whatever the case, MLB needs to brace itself:

 

Especially Madison Bumgarner.
