The Shot Dude: Distributing That Dosh

The reward for distributing the basketball so a teammate can score is an assist on the stat sheet.

The reward for distributing great ideas for your fantasy lineup is that you win and pick up some cash.

Your favorite Shot Dude is like a fantasy info point guard, here to dish out the knowledge to help you build a great NBA fantasy roster.

With 18 teams in action tonight, you'll find benefit in using the Bovada data tool on our Home page to check out the matchups:

Point Guards

Emmanuel MudiayDenver ($5200) ... is a rookie who's impressed me by meeting or exceeding fantasy value in 6 of his last 8 games. With Jameer Nelson doubtful to play tonight , Mudiay will get similar court time like the 30 or more minutes he's played in 7 of  the last 8. Toronto plays hard defense, but with home court, a team total of 101 points, and a spread within 6 points, Denver and Mudiay will be just fine tonight.

Russell WestbrookOklahoma City ($10,900) ... currently ranks fifth in the NBA with the 18.7 shots per game he averages. Dude's coming off a triple-double against Houston and has now scored 50 or more fantasy points in 6 of his last 7 contests. Westbrook's game with Washington is the game from which I'll be trying to roster players because it has the highest total on the board at 222 points.

Shooting Guards

Bryce Dejean-JonesNew Orleans ($3500) ...is a minimum salary player making the most of his opportunity in the NBA. Dude has been helping out the Pelicans what with the injuries to both Tyreke Evans and Eric Gordon. Just signed to his second 10-day contract, Jones has two straight games with over 21 fantasy points and will get another start tonight against Memphis.

Kent BazemoreAtlanta ($5100) ... is my gut player of the day. He doesn't have the best matchup on paper, but I have this feeling that the box score will feature Bazemore's name prominently. Dude's been a double-digit scorer in 5 of his last 7 games. Atlanta has a team total of 104 points at home against Dallas in what should be a relatively close game.

Small Forwards

LeBron JamesCleveland ($10,000) ... is the second of the three players with a 5-digit salary to make my recommendations today. This stars and scrubs strategy is very effective in maximizing your fantasy scoring. Rarely does James underperform, and he's playing against Indiana in a game with a total of 210. James has scored 20 or more points in 6 straight games and seems to be enjoying the up-tempo style offense put in place by new head coach Tyronn Lue.

Kevin DurantOklahoma City ($10,700) ... has all the matchup qualities I seek, all rolled up into one today. Dude's playing in the highest total game, has a usage rate above 25, averages 1.25 fantasy points per minute, and will face a defense ranked second-to-last in the league against small forwards. Oh yes, and he's registered double-doubles in 3 of his last 4 contests!

Power Forwards

Tristan ThompsonCleveland ($4700) ... has also benefited from the new high-powered offense in Cleveland, with at least 31 minutes in 3 of the last 4 games. Dude had double-doubles in two of those games and has been getting much more time at the center position than Timofey Mozgov. Indiana ranks 21st in defending opposing centers, so I like Thompson's chances to to at least reach fantasy value.

Myles TurnerIndiana ($5200) ... has surpassed his fantasy value in 6 of his last 7 games with ease. Just a rookie, Turner has 19 blocks in his last 7 games and is hard for any defense to contain. He's a must-play for me at this price after recently entering the Pacers' starting lineup and getting 40 minutes of court time last game.

Center

Jordan HillIndiana ($4500) ... will no doubt be a very popular choice at center tonight in fantasy lineups. It was announced that starter Ian Mahinmi will not play tonight, giving Hill as many minutes as he can handle. In his last game against Denver, dude almost made ten times value with the 44 fantasy points he tallied. Indiana has home court advantage in this game with a point spread of just 6 against Cleveland tonight.
