Dabo Swinney Crafts a Folksy Reply for That Dadgum Paul Finebaum
The forever victimized Dabo Swinney isn't fooling anyone with this nonsense.
His Clemson Tigers are in fact the defending national champions and currently unbeaten headed into the ACC Championship Game.
However, Dabo seemed pretty dadgum perplexed after his Tigers annihilated yet another inferior opponent at South Carolina.
Just listen to this shameless attempt at martyrdom:
"Georgia loses to this very same team & the very next day it's 'How do we keep Georgia in it?' We win to the team that beat South Carolina & it's 'How do we get Clemson out?'"

Dude can't possibly believe this gibberish.
This us against them motivational ploy may work with his student-athletes, but talking head Paul Finebaum is having none of it:

The brutally frank ESPN and SEC commentator may be a complete dick, but he's certainly got a point about that grueling schedule.
Of course, this argument has been well-lamented:
Dabo Swinney says he can’t control the strength of his conference - only his program. Fair enough. But, he can control his non-conference schedule. So, was he just expecting Wofford and Charlotte to be a shit ton better when he put them on the schedule?? #CFBPlayoff

Dabo was predictably asked about the Finebaum verbal spanking and spun quite the yarn in response:

“You don’t take criticism from people that you wouldn’t take advice from.”
Dabo also talks 1st grade naps, lunchboxes, and bologna sandwiches which I thought was very spot onπ#Clemson

That whimsical tangent reminds us of a bizarro Mike Leach, although the Cougars head coach typically covers a more diverse range of topics.
The edge in vocabulary also goes to Leach.
