Muguruza and Her Totally Healthy Pecs Oust Sharapova

It was a battle of two walkovers.

Frankly, battle is an overstatement. That would've entailed a fight to the finish.

This one was basically finished soon after it started.

If it wasn't for a few raindrops and Sharapova composure moments, it would've been in the books within the hour.

6-1, 6-2 blowouts have a way of doing that.

Not much pop in the post-match presser, either.

Sharapova, for example, spent most of it fielding questions about comments she penned regarding Serena in her dear diary of a tell-all, as if that ground hadn't been trodden before.

Not much else for Muguruza to say afterward, either.

She was favored to win against Sharapova and did it with the efficiency of an accountant attacking a 1040a form.

Dude. That's cold.

It was Muguruza's first-ever victory over the Russian, so there's that, but this was also only the fourth time they've met.

Kinda.

It was that sorta day at Roland Garros with most of the compelling matches washed out.

All that was left for Muguruza to do was contemplate how to attack top-seed Simona Halep in the semis. That's gonna be a tall order.

Meanwhile, Sharapova was now free to do other stuff, like being a brand.
