Manchester United Is Immune to the Newcastle Jinx

The Red Devils cruised past Newcastle with 3-1 victory and thus cling to their third spot in the Premiership table.

Manchester United finally used their attacking power to the max against the Magpies. All of their stars up front had a part to play in the result.

The Geordie side had recently found their way against the big teams. Racking up results against the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City, the northerners hoped their fortunes would hold at Old Trafford. But, that's still mystical ground for the Red Devils. Jinxes don’t often work there.

The ol' captain, Wayne Rooney, made sure of the outcome by potting a pair of first-half markers, with beautiful assists from El Tigré -- Radamel Falcao -- and Juan Mata.

Not only does Rooney score, he provides. Here's the Flying Dutchman, Robert van Persie, with a calm finish.

Here's a nod to your noggin, dude.

Newcastle United had a late consolation penalty, which Papisse Cissé converted brilliantly.

David De Gea has been brilliant all season, but the dude's not a magician.

Man of the Match went elsewhere this time, but trois points went to the Devils' ledger, keeping their remote hopes alive of making up the 10-point difference between their good selves and Chelsea.

And the Magpies have to hope their traveling black cloud keeps up the hexes elsewhere.
