Gaudreau's Lighting 2018 Up

It's been a weird season so far for the Calgary Flames.

They're based in a hockey-mad city that can't seem to find a way to build a new arena the club says it needs to remain finacially viable.

It's to the point where moving elsewhere is an actual possibility.

The uncertainty seems to take a toll on its players, too.

The Flames' play has been streaky more often than not. In fact, wins and losses come in bundles.

The last time they've had a victory after a loss and vice versa was in the end of November. Other than that, Calgary's been on a roll on on the skids.

Currently, the Flames are hot. Dudes claimed a 4-3 overtime decision against the Chicago Blackhawks on New Year's Eve and haven't lost since.

Johnny Gaudreau tallied two assists to aid the cause in that one, and he just kept right on going in January.

The Flames, in fact, are perfect in 2018. This streak has stretched to seven, and Johnny Hockey has led them.

Especially in the last four games.

Given their earlier work, odds are Calgary will offset this hot patch with one that's ice cold.

Kinda like their prospects for that new arena right now.

Still, Gaudreau and his linemates have kept it going no matter what, because with this team, they have no other choice if they wanna keep playing into late April.
