Johnny Manziel Finally Signs with the Tiger-Cats

It only took damn near half a year for football's most wayward slinger to figure it out.

After cleaning his act up enough to merit acceptance by the Canadian Football League, Johnny Manziel still couldn't resist trying the funky stuff.

Dude did so-so in a mediocre Spring League startup and even toyed with jumping onto the XFL 2.0 bandwagon before realizing his real road to redemption was north of the border:

 

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed Manziel to a two-year contract, which sets him up with what should be an ideal situation:

  • June Jones is his coach, and he's got a solid history of designing wide-open offenses, and
  • The longer and wider CFL field will give him room to be Johnny Football again.

 

Now, all he's gotta do is not blow it.

That means he'll have to back up his words of contrition:

 

The Ti-Cats had already assembled a stable of familiar collegian QBs:

So, dude's not necessarily coming to Canada as any sorta savior. Literally and figuratively, he's got some ground to cover.

Hamilton's regular season gets underway on Sun 16 Jun, so Manziel had best be a quick study and quicker performer.
