Angry White Dude: Eli, It's Time

What's Eli Manning got in common with Marvin K Mooney?

Apparently, neither one of them can take a hint.

One of life's obviosities is that Father Time is undefeated. The only dude who ever beat him was Dorian Gray, and that didn't end well for anyone.

So, really, Eli shouldn't have to be told as if he was the NFL version of Marvin K.

Dude's now been benched in favor or rookie Daniel Jones. Demotions happen to everyone sooner or later.

Hell, even Tom Brady's gonna meet the Turk some day.

Manning simply doesn't have the skills he once had. In fact, that's being generous. Dude's never set the NFL on fire.

The only thing that he ever led the league in was interceptions. His record's only 116-116 as a starter. Yup, 50%. Just a 60% pass completion average, too.

Eli did, however, play very well in the postseason, which got him and his teammates two Super Bowl rings.

Sweeter yet, both were won against the Patriots.

So, now the question is, should Manning be a Hall of Famer?

Hell yes, he should be!

Has your team been to two Super Bowls and won them both? (The usual exclusions apply, of course.) Eli played big in the Big Game, bringing home the trophy.

If you dont think he should, then you might want to do a bit of research on a dude named Joe Namath.

Maybe his career wasn't as dynamic as Broadway Joe's, but Eli's had his day.

Bottom line now, though, is when it's your time, it is your time. Nothing to be ashamed of. No reason to hang your head.

Right now in the NFL, the Giants have the best back-up chucker in the league.

Play your role for the rest of this season, Eli, and then ride off into the sunset.

Enjoy your retirement and pending induction into the Hall of Fame!
