Chad Johnson Sentenced to 30 Days in Jail

In the That's Just Plain Dumb department, former Bengals and Dolphins wide receiver Chad Johnson was sentenced to 30 days in jail for smacking his lawyer on the behind.

As we reported here a few weeks ago, Johnson was running from the law because didn't make his scheduled court appearance.

According to reports, Johnson was about to avoid jail time for violating his probation when he decided to thank his lawyer Adam Swickle in an unusual way.

The judge didn't take too kindly to Johnson's "thank you" because she didn't think he took the whole situation seriously. So she did what judges do and slapped his butt with a 30-day jail term.

In the original deal, Johnson’s probation would have been extended to 21 December, and he would have performed 25 hours of community service. Not any more.

Maybe this is the reality check Johnson needs to get his head straight. He wants to get back into the NFL, but who wants to take a chance on a guy who seemingly doesn't take his life seriously?

Now, those chances look slim and none. And Slim left town.
