Angry White Dude: What a Joke!

After years of talking about  it, there will finally be a boxing match between Floyd  'Money' Mayweather and MMA fighter Connor McGregor.

It's set for Sat 26 Aug in Las Vegas, which is what everyone -- except a certain local hockey team -- calls that city.

This just might be one of the biggest boxing matches in the history of the sport.

That's quite a joke in itself.

The UFC and Dana White have agreed to allow McGregor to step into a ring -- not a cage -- and participate in a boxing match with one of the best boxers of all time.

Mayweather stepped away from boxing two years ago with a perfect 49-0 record. The best fighters of his time could barely lay a glove on him. He comes out of retirement to face McGregor, who has never been in a professional boxing match.

There's another joke.

Actually, the joke is really on the people who seem to be lining up to pay $100.00 for this fight on pay-per-view.

Remember James Toney?

Dude was a great boxer who sported a 72-3 record and three weight-class titles in the squared circle before he outlived his career.

He lasted 3:19 in an MMA fight against UFC legend Randy Couture.

That was back in 2010.

  • Toney got paid,
  • Couture said he wanted no part of a boxing match against Toney, which was very smart, and
  • It was a joke.

UFC veteran Tim Hague tried his hand at boxing. He was knocked out in the second round, spent two days in critical condition, and then died.

That, my friends, is no joke.

The points should be simple to see:

  • Boxers box; MMA fighters fight in a cage.
  • Boxing is one form of self-defense; MMA means Mixed Martial Arts, which are several different types of self-defense.

To you, it might seem that they're the same thing. Trust me, they're not.

Pay to view this sham, and the joke is on you, dudes and dudettes. You could surely do a lot of more useful things with that $100.00.

Mayweather and McGregor will be laughing all the way to the bank. The outcome is pretty much predetermined, and you know it!

Yes, the joke is on you if you shell out $100.00 to watch a boxer -- who has never lost in 49 pro fights -- box an MMA fighter who has never been in a pro boxing match.

The joke most certainly is on you!
