NCAAF Championship Week ATS Hit List: Time for Favorites to Prove It

The time has finally come for the Power Five conferences to put forward their champions for the College Football Playoff Selection Committee's consideration.

That comes down to which one the Ivory Tower's gonna blackball.

Of course, this is based on the assumption that favorites are gonna win each title clash and whether or not who prevails on the field really matters because CFP 💕 big brands.

Of course, our one-dude selection committee is more concerned with beating the line than hoisting the hardware.

We've got suggestions on four of the Power Five matchups and one Other Five game that looks too good to pass up. Just remember to check your lines before making a decision.

Best of luck to the Big XII combatants, but from this vantage point, that Oklahoma -9 against Baylor looks to be right on the number.

Seems like the Bears already had their shot and melted down. Make of that what you will.

We like these picks better:

Fri 6 Dec

Oregon vs Utah -6½

Most predicted a Duck-Ute Pac-12 Championship.

Oregon started out hot. After losing 27-21 to Auburn, dudes won 9 in a row, beating everyone during the regular season in Pac-12 play except Arizona State. The Ducks ended their season by knocking off Oregon State but failed to cover.

Utah's played like one of the Top Four teams in the nation. Dudes lost to USC, but that’s it. With a win, the Utes should stake a claim for a CFP berth. They won’t leave anything to chance. They should beat the Ducks SU and ATS.

Result: Oregon 37 Utah 15 ... Ducks cover

Sat 7 Dec

UL-Lafayette +6 at Appalachian State

App State believes they deserve to play in a New Year’s Six Bowl. The Mountaineers went 11-1 SU and 8-4 ATS in the regular season.

UL-Lafayette is no joke, though. The Ragin’ Cajuns went 10-2 SU and 9-3 ATS. UL-Lafayette ended their season by winning 6 straight. Even though App State beat ULL, 17-7, this year, back the Cajuns.

Result: Appalachian State 45 UL-Lafayette 38 ... Mountaineers cover

Georgia vs LSU -6

The Dawgs went 4-1 ATS in their final 5 games. Their lone non-cover came against Texas A&M, while LSU pummeled the Aggies, 50-7, in their last regular-season game. Georgia’s defense has played well, but it hasn’t faced an offense as good as LSU’s.

The Tigers average 48.7 points and amass 561.6 yards per. Georgia won’t stop their offense. That means the Bulldogs must keep up on the scoreboard. They won’t. Although this game takes place in Atlanta, LSU covers.

Result: LSU 37 Georgia 10 ... Tigers cover

Virginia vs Clemson -29

Defending champion Clemson finished the regular season 12-0 and -- for motivational purposes -- feels disrespected.

The Wahoos beat Virginia Tech to stamp their ticket and make a first-ever appearance in the ACC title game. They have no shot of upsetting Clemson. Not only will Clemson win, they'll win big. Expect the Tigers to make a statement.

Result: Clemson 62 Virginia 17 ... Tigers cover

Wisconsin vs Ohio State -15½

When Wisconsin and Ohio State battled in the Horseshoe on Sat 26 Oct, the Buckeyes put on a 38-7 demolition show.

The Badgers must run to have any shot in the Big Ten Championship. However, dudes averaged 2.4 yards per carry in the first matchup, and they won’t average much more than that in the rematch. Buckeyes roll.

Result: Ohio State 34 Wisconsin 21 ... Badgers cover
