Manziel Says He is Trying to Grow Up

Johnny Manziel is having an interesting off-season.

From his partying at the Super Bowl, going to NBA games, and kissing hot chicks at the beach, Manziel has lived the life of Riley.

The problem is Manziel's partying was getting out of hand, and he is finally beginning to realize it.

Manziel, who has come off the past few weeks as a spoiled, immature athlete, now says in a recent interview that he is trying to grow up.

“It’s been a little bit of a wild ride. It’s had its ups and downs," said Manziel.

“It’s been different,” he continued. “I’m still learning to adapt. There’s struggles, there’s ups and downs, there’s valleys, there’s everything. I’m still just continuing to learn, I’m still just a 20 year old kid at the end of the day. I’m trying to grow up not just as a football player but as a man on and off the field. I’m still learning every day.”

Maybe Johnny Football and Kevin Sumlin had a come-to-Jesus meeting after his recent rant on Twitter with the coach convincing Manziel that maybe he should step away from the spotlight for the rest of the summer. 

Time will tell if he actually listened to the advice.
