Manziel: No More Off-Season Audibles on Twitter

It's been an interesting few weeks for Johnny Football, aka Johnny Manziel, so much so that Manziel announced on Monday he is taking a Twitter break.

Hhmmm. I wonder why?

"I've kind of just shut it all off," Manziel said to ESPN on Monday. "With how the media has been with me for a while, I just shut everything off. As of [Monday], I said I was done with [Twitter] for however long. It's fun to have, but it can get to be distracting at points."

Could it because there are several pictures out of him partying hard during Spring Break? Or maybe it's because he shoved a grad assistant during practice last week and that story got out to the public?

Manziel hasn't exactly been hiding out from the media. The Heisman Trophy winner has been acting like, well, a college kid.

Since the football season ended, Manziel has been spotted at the Super Bowl, an NBA game, and in casinos partying his ass off.

To say that Manziel has been enjoying his new celebrity status would be an understatement. He's been enjoying it too much; officials at Texas A&M had to basically tell him to slow down. And this isn't the first time he's received a stern shot across the bow from the Aggies.

There are even bets among SEC fans as to if and when Manziel will be arrested (my guess was before the season started).

Apparently, Manziel's partying and the media attention he is getting is finally starting to take its toll on him. So, he has decided to either stop partying or, at least, stop letting the media see him party.

Either way, it's a smart move on his part, but this still may be a long worrisome offseason for Aggie fans and their star quarterback.

Because, really, he is just a college kid. And an underclassman at that.
