While Bruce Pearl can coach the hell out of a basketball team, he's also apparently clairvoyant.
The perennially scandalous leader of the Auburn Tigers has his team clicking on all cylinders at just the right time, setting up a Sweet Sixteen matchup with the top- seeded North Carolina Tar Heels.
Pearl's never been one to mince words on any subject, including the betting prospects of his own team.
During an interview with Scott Van Pelt on ESPN, Bruce decided he would throw a bone to the gambling community, encouraging them to take the over on the total.

Much obliged, Coach Pearl.
That would be us dashing off to place this informed wager.
Well, wouldn't you know it, the Tigers and Tar Heels sprinted right past the total of 164, combining for 177 points.
While this wasn't terribly surprising, the fact that the Tigers scored 97 of those points did shock many pundits.
The Tigers' 97-80 spanking of Carolina certainly had Pearl moist with perspiration, but it also left Tar Heels coach Roy Williams at a loss, as the fiery old dude went full Izzo at one point during a timeout.

Auburn will be hooking up with SEC rival Kentucky in the Elite Eight on Sunday, with that total currently sitting at a modest 142.
Hmmm, perhaps we should give Coach Pearl a ring, just to say hi.
Gambling is fun.
