Sunday Treat: Mavs and Blazers Keep a Lid on It

For my money, I see a strong NBA play on Sunday evening.

I'm a big totals player, and one in particular stands out to me as being unusually high.

I like Dallas and Portland to stay under the 207 that Bovada and most places have it pegged. (Check out the Bovada matchup feature on the Home page.) While the Mavericks' scoring has picked up the last several weeks, neither of these teams score or give up more than 103 points per game. Also, only one in the last 10 head-to-head games between these two have gone over the number that Bovada and other sportsbooks have the total set for tonight.

While it's not unlike the Blazers lately to watch opponents shatter the 100-point barrier (8 of their last 10 foes have done so), they seem to have trouble lately in just getting to 95 themselves. You add it all up and it's tempting to go just as big on Dallas covering the four points. But as the Mavs have been on the road for a week, I'm going to stay away from that play and go with the gut:

Dallas at Portland; I'm taking the UNDER on total points scored.
