The Jets' Kicking Fiasco Has Reached New Heights of Absurdity
The retired NFL kicking community is up in arms over the New York Jets' piss-poor handing of their endless kicker search.
And for some reason, head coach Adam Gase can't stop laughing.
Gang Green is somehow on its fourth kicker since training camp.
And yes, we just wrapped up Week 1 of the regular season.
Of course, the Jets are quite familiar with that sensation.
The thing is, all of this nonsense could've been avoided by simply keeping the Pro Bowl kicker they already had on the roster, a dude by the name of Jason Myers.
We'll let a couple of outraged former kickers have the floor for a moment:
Blows my mind that they let Myers walk. A young Pro Bowl Kicker is worth every cent. Instead, they go cheap and this is what they get. My Dad always told me, you get what you pay for. I like Ficken, has had some good moments in the NFL hopefully he does well there. https://t.co/1ln23d99OW

That's exactly right, two-time Super Bowl Champion Lawrence Tynes.
Jay Feely stopped menacing his daughter's boyfriend with a gun long enough to weigh in as well:
More games then any year ever before in NFL history were decided by 3 pts or less last year. And you have a strong legged kicker who figured out how to be accurate and you don’t value that?? Especially for a young team that will play close games 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ https://t.co/0ttPCPvDFY

Also some very lucid commentary.
After watching Chandler Catanzaro retire and Taylor Bertolet suck, the Jets picked up something called Kaare Vedvik, who was now on his third team in like a week.
Dude proceeded to miss his only field goal attempt and only XP attempt in a one-point home loss to the Bills.

Now it's Sam Ficken's time to shine.
Meanwhile, Coach Gase is apparently now as crazy as his eyes make him appear to be:

That must fill Jets fans with confidence.
