Pete Carroll Brutalized by Stray Football during Pre-Game Warmups
You never know when someone's going to get horribly mangled on a football field, but it's always a question of when.
Pre-game warmups on the field are typically a sanctuary from the violence, unless of course you're Pete Carroll and you walk right into a football.
This is precisely what happened just minutes before the Saints and Seahawks threw down.
Here's the most unfortunate incident:

As you can see, the stealthy Carroll was hidden behind a rather large individual before emerging right as the ball was tossed.
The oldest coach in the NFL wasn't going to use his disfigurement as an excuse to shirk his responsibilities, so they stitched him up and wired him for sound.
Well, it might not be broken, but it's not exactly easy on the eyes, either.
His Seahawks fell at home rather convincingly to the Drew Brees-less Saints, with Pete making some dubious decisions throughout the game.
However, he still gets cool points for playing the role of grizzled football dude:
Shoutout to Pete Carroll
