Kirk Cousins Apologizes for Being Really Bad at His Job
Now here's a new one.
The much beleaguered Kirk Cousins -- on the heels of another grim performance and fresh round of criticism -- issued a formal apology this week.
You heard that correctly.
The Vikings starting QB said he was sorry to his star WR Adam Thielan, who'd publicly suggested that maybe Cousins could improve his downfield accuracy just a bit.
Yes, we know.
The large financial albatross apparently had an epiphany after reviewing the Bears tape, and now seems to understand what everyone is talking about.
Cousins agrees he needs to be much better at football going forward, elaborating further the next day:

“I felt like Adam was taking some heat and I was trying to basically say ‘Hey, it’s not what you said. There’s always more to it.’” #Vikings @FOX9 pic.twitter.com/WXG2ks1Iwb
There, all is well now.
Meanwhile, Garrett Bradbury and Stefon Diggs are still waiting their turn.
A professional athlete issuing a mea culpa to a teammate isn't exactly a normal occurrence.
In fact, it seems to be making head coach Mike Zimmer uncomfortable:
Mike Zimmer has plenty of concerns after #Vikings' 2-2 start, but says Kirk Cousins apologizing to Adam Thielen isn't one of them. "He was probably just being nice. I mean, seriously, I’m not worried about it. Maybe he should get off the podcast.” https://t.co/8PSJw5rOAY

It's really a sordid state of affairs in Minnesota at the moment.
Of course, all of this would go away if Cousins just started playing better, but that seems unlikely.
Meanwhile, while he does appear to be contrite, the veteran will reportedly not be giving back any of the $84million.

Yeah, we didn't think so.
