Apparently, NFL Officials Are Now Formally Babysitting Tom Brady
The NFL has been actively protecting the QB position for quite a while now.
But the following is something else altogether.
According to a Miami Dolphins LB named Raekwon McMillan, he was issued a verbal warning by a referee to stay off Tom after a completely benign hit on the dapper Tom Brady.
Now we don't want to be alarmists here, but this sort of thing could very easily compromise the legitimacy of a league that's already seen its legitimacy compromised.
Hey, we're not the crazy ones.
Let's have a look at the play in question:

Good God, dude didn't even land on him, which is now something that can draw a flag, as if a player can somehow manipulate the laws of physics and gravity.
Also, maybe the officials shouldn't be so casual with the use of a player's first name, although at least they didn't refer to Brady as Mr Terrific.
Obviously, the QB position pays the bills, and with both Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger already on the shelf, it seems the league is now working overtime to protect the brittle 42-year-old.
Pretty soon, the NFL product is going to be diluted to the point of being unwatchable.
In fact, one household has already pulled the plug:
Too many penalties. Just let us play!!!! #TENvsJAC
