According to NFL Network, Gronk's Suffering from a Bulging Dick

It's comforting to know that the classics will never die, with some aging gracefully like a fine wine.

An NFL Network reporter by the name of Michael Giardi recently fell victim to one of the more entertaining Freudian slips in the business, and we are all better people for it.

In a valiant attempt to describe the condition of Rob Gronkowski's injured back, Giardi really leaned into the bulging disc portion of his report, but inadvertently took it in a fun and exciting new direction.

Well jeepers, that language really doesn't seem appropriate.

 

OK, maybe at a bachelorette party, but certainly not in the context of a live sports broadcast.

Dude has nothing to be ashamed of though, handling the situation with aplomb and a few giggles.

Speaking of the giggles, this very specific goof seems to happen with alarming frequency.

Here's Steve Levy way back in 1995 on what appears to be an after-hours edition of the ESPN staple Sportscenter:

 

That gradually became a shit show, with Keith Olbermann serving as conductor.

Hey, here's another one, courtesy of a female reporter, which adds another layer to the proceedings.

 

Please note that she also used the word stiffness in that brief clip.

Her parents must have been beaming with pride.

Anyway, it's important to measure our words carefully, regardless of workplace.

 

Well, at least he didn't use the word bulging.
