There are precious few constants in this mad world of ours these days.
However, we can always lean on the unrelenting futility of Rutgers' football program.
While the Scarlet Knights will once again function as a Big Ten doormat this coming season, they're going to look really cool doing so.

The 1869 is a reference to the very first game of American collegiate football ever played, which apparently involved Rutgers.
The Scarlet Knights held on for a 6-4 win over mighty Princeton on that fateful day, and it seems that 150 years later is as good a time as any to acknowledge it, at least according to Adidas.
Meanwhile, the Rutgers social media team is really working overtime with this birthplace of college football in Piscataway conceit.

It'll be interesting to hear Jim Harbaugh's thoughts on the throwbacks after his Wolverines beat the Scarlet Knights 88-2 and then torch the cradle.
