The Classy Doc Rivers Honors the Also Classy Dirk Nowitzki

The Dirk Nowitzki farewell tour rages on, packing in overflow crowds from coast to coast.

The Jolly German's traveling family band just stopped in LA recently, as Dirk did battle with the Clippers for presumably the last time.

With Nowitzki on the court at the end of a comfortable Clippers win over the Mavericks, head coach Doc Rivers decided to call a very sentimental timeout.

Try not to get too emotional:

Apparently, the NBA is now partnering with the Lifetime Movie Network.

As far as we know, Meredith Baxter wasn't at the Staples Center.

This was an extremely cool move by Rivers, made even more so by its spontaneous nature.

Dirk was clearly taken aback, and this played much better than some of the other tributes we've witnessed this season.

The Doc tribute was, dare we say, classy.

Yes, that's what we're saying.

Also classy, if not a bit forced, was the Dirk and still clutch Dwayne Wade's traditional jersey exchange a few weeks ago.

So very classy.
