Steven Gerrard's Still The Man for Liverpool

Liverpool may be out of both the title race and Champions League, but not from their captain's point of view.

The struggling Reds were saved from a draw as Steven Gerard guided them to a 2-1 victory against the Queens Park Rangers.

Relegation-battling QPR had much more on the line coming onto this one and played like it. In the face of such ferocity, the 'Pool barely managed to escape their own disappointment.

Philippe Coutinho scored a stunning curler to complete a textbook build-up:

Top shelf. Right where Momma keeps the jam.

QPR then battened down the hatches, with the Reds missing tons of chances. Then, in the 72nd minute, they finally got their break when Leroy Fer went all Rockettes on a corner:

A tenner says that dude's into yoga.

No. Not Yoda. Yoga!

Anyway, Liverpool put the pressure back on, ultimately lining up for a penalty. It was prime time for Stevie G, comfy at Anfied and money in the bank. But ...

It was just one of those days. Still, this is Steven Gerrard, arguably the best player ever to grace Anfield. And true to form, the captain willed his Red army to the finish line.

Cherish the memory. It may be the last time the Reds get to see this man celebrating at Anfield.
