Sánchez Caps Man United's 3-Goal Comeback at Newcastle

If any Premiership manager needed an opponent like the Magpies this weekend, it was José Mourinho.

Manchester United's embattled manager probably double-checked the schedule to be sure Newcastle was on it this weekend and decided it was the perfect time to issue his back me or sack me ultimatum.

Because no one wets the bed like those dudes, almost like it's become a tradition in its own right.

The Red Devils responded to an 0-2 halftime deficit to gain a 3-2 victory after 90th-minute goal by Alexis Sánchez. This was nothing less than spectacular.

Newcastle did come out breathing fire at the Theatre of Dreams, and in the 7th minute, they made it clear. Ayoze Pérez found Kenedy, who curled his effort into the far post past David de Gea:

Just two minutes later, they did it again.

Yoshinori Muto received the ball inside of the box, made space for himself, and fired home:

With a large mountain to climb, Mourinho made changes. At the break, he subbed off Scott McTominay for Marouane Fellaini, and fortunes changed.

In the 70th, Juan Mata brilliantly bent a free-kick past Martin Dúbravka and brought life back into Old Trafford:

Then, in the 76th, United leveled by way of a great combination involving two key players.

Anthony Martial gave it to Paul Pogba, who back-heeled a superb return superbly to his countryman, who fired into the bottom corner:

At that point, under the circumstances, a point would've been fair.

However, never underestimate Newcastle's ability to be over-generous.

Sure enough, United got the winner in the 90th through Sánchez.

Ashley Young moved down to the right-wing and sent him a spiffy cross. Money:

So, Mourninho gets a brownie point, the Magpies get what they always do, and tomorrow is another day.
