Manchester United Loses in Europe Again ... to Liverpool

OK, OK, we get it.

This is not the English clubs' year in European competition.

In Manchester United's case, not even when their European opponent is English.

Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool broke Manchester United’s four-match-unbeaten run against them, wrapping up a nifty 2-0 decision to break the jinx.

Whenever the Reds play the Red Devils, it's a special event. It's just that impartial observers are having to be convinced of it these days every time United sets foot on the pitch.

This one was no different. United came down with stage fright and Liverpool simply bullied them around.

Memphis Depay, a supposed wunderkind, always chooses the worst matches to mess up, and he did again:

Surely a penalty. No doubt whatsoever.

Daniel Sturridge had no trouble blasting it in:

Liverpool were doing more than fine, but Michael Carrick decided to make it just bloody dandy:

Roberto Firmino’s first goal in continental completion. He couldn't have asked to have it any easier.

The question looms, then: is United's old guard ready to swallow hard and turn the reins over to the Special One?

Do know he continues to stir it up.
