Man Utd Begins 2018 by Pulling Its Head Out

After what can only be described as a disastrous patch late in 2017, the New Year started well for the Red Devils.

Everton hosted Manchester United for their first game of the New Year but couldn't pull off a miracle as Wayne Rooney's old boys won easily with a 0-2 victory.

No recognizable strikers were available for the Special One's call due to injury, but the understudies were well capable of grabbing all three points.

It took some magic from magical Anthony Martial to break the deadlock.

And a wonderful goal it was:

 

Bummer it had to come from a Rooney turnover, though.

If the first goal wasn't value for money -- and that'd be a hard bargain -- then the second from new hero Jesse Lingard should've done the trick:

As to first, it's Manchester City's world and everyone else is just living in it.
