Taylor Hall, Edmonton ($9400) ... is one of only seven NHL players to have registered at least 100 shots on goal so far this season. His 116 shots ranks him third, and dude's scored 10 goals, including 2 game-winners as a result. Besides all the shots he takes, Hall also makes for a strong play due to his strong power play presence. Edmonton is home to Buffalo, who ranks dead last in road penalty kill at a paltry 66.7%. The Bruins have given up 8 power play goals in 11 games to date, and chances are high it happens again today. Hall plays left wing on the Oilers top line; in their last game, Buffalo gave up 2 even-strength goals to Arizona's top-line left winger Max Domi. Speaking of ...
Max Domi, Arizona ($5900) ... is heating up with at least a point in 5 of his last 6 games, including the aforementioned two-goal game at Buffalo. Domi has also scored 10 goals this season on only 53 shots and added 13 assists in 26 games. Domi has tallied 6 power play points as he gets time on the Coyotes second power play unit. Arizona faces Carolina, who is sixth-worst with a penalty kill currently at a low 76.2%. Also, the Hurricanes rank 27th in the league by giving up just under 3 goals a game on average. This is a good spot for Domi to ride his hot streak to at least another point.
Adam Henrique, New Jersey ($4100) ... has taken the third highest amount of shots for New Jersy with 61, connecting for 12 goals in 26 games. Like Domi, Henrique has been on a nice streak by scoring a point in 5 of his last 7 games including 4 goals. Dude seems to be a Johnny-on-the-spot type player, as 2 of his goals have come short-handed, 2 have been on the power play, and 3 have been game-winners. The Devils will skate on home ice against a road-weary Florida team playing the last of their five-game trip.
Drew Doughty, Los Angeles ($6200) ... ranks second among all NHL skaters in ice time by averaging 27:27 a game and has launched 62 shots on goal in 25 games. His top line power play prowess has netted him 4 goals, including a game-winner so far. Doughty and his mates have a few positive factors going for them in today's matchup. Here's one: the Kings have a home date with Tampa Bay, which has the NHL's fifth-worst penalty kill at a lackluster 75.9%. Here's another: the winded Lightning are also playing their third road game in 5 days.
Duncan Keith, Chicago ($6300) ... also makes our list of scorching players at the moment with at least a point in 8 of his last 10 games. He must be feeling back to maximum strength after an injury held him out of 10 games, based on the 12 points he's accrued in the 16 games he's played this season. Chicago enjoys home ice today against a Winnipeg team that is second-to-last in the NHL with the 81 goals surrendered in 27 games.
Corey Crawford, Chicago (oops!) ... is due for a win and is in a great spot to get one at home today. Dude's won 6 of his 10 home starts and ranks sixth in the NHL among netminders with at least 10 home starts with a .927 save percentage. The Blackhawks have shown great goal support by scoring almost 3 goals a game at home and have the fifth-best home penalty kill at 86.2%. Chicago's power play has been lethal, too, owning the league's second-best conversion percentage at 25.6. They should be quite busy today, as the Jets have taken the most minor penalties (122) in the league.
