Packers Fan Files Federal Lawsuit against Bears

The Chicago Bears organization seems to be taking this rivalry thing to completely unreasonable levels.

In fact, their vitriol towards the hated Green Bay Packers is such that they appear to be perfectly willing to alienate one of their own longtime season ticket holders.

Granted, this particular season ticket holder happens to be a diehard Packers fan, but that's mere semantics.

The dude in question goes by the name of Russell Beckman, and he was mysteriously denied access to the Soldier Field sideline last season because he was sporting his green and gold.

It's unclear if Beckman was wearing a cheese sombrero, but this is not a question of taste.

This is much bigger than that.

Beckman has been a Bears season ticket holder since 2003 and even stood on the sidelines at Soldier Field wearing his Packers finest without incident in both 2014 and 2015.

Hmmm, interesting.

Apparently, Beckman received an email from the organization before a Bears-Packers tussle this past December, stipulating that no opposing team gear would be allowed.

This crusader of truth and fair play defied the edict and showed up in his colors, anyway.

He was promptly denied access.

Of course, the Bears have every right to change their policy in this regard, but the optics on this don't reflect well at all on the organization.

Beckman is acting as his own attorney in the federal lawsuit and isn't seeking any compensation other than his own legal fees.

However, he is seeking justice.
