NFL Bans Jumping over the Line to Block a Kick

The NFL is at it again.

In an effort to extract every ounce of joy from the game, the league is now apparently legislating athleticism.

Beginning this coming season, players will no longer be allowed to leap over the line of scrimmage to block a field goal or extra point.

Say it ain't so, NFL.

Sadly, this is the price we must pay for player safety.

But what of all the fun we'll be missing?

The combination of timing and athleticism necessary to pull off such a play is quite a sight to behold.

Of course, this exciting play isn't the exclusive domain of the Seattle Seahawks.

Other teams have joined the fun as well.

But alas, it appears that playtime is over.

So let's all mourn the loss of this exciting play in appropriate fashion.

Hell, kicking in all forms may be going bye-bye pretty soon anyway.
