A Giant Swing For Points
While many laugh at the thought of us who crave the opportunity to bet on pre-season football, I can tell you they are simply missing out on some money makng opportunities that come far easier than waiting until the regular season.
So start making it rain Sunday night with the Hall Of Fame Game between the Giants and Bills.
The real attention grabber to me is Bovada's total posted Sunday of 37, three points higher than it was just a day earlier.
I've been eyeing the over since the lines came out and am not going to let this big move sway my opinion at all.
Knowing the number is where it is, let's just break down each team's chances of getting to a score of 20. Because if they both do, it's cha-ching time.
First, let's look at the New York Giants. While we all know this game is nothing more than a glorified scrimmage, the Giants have implemented the fast-paced 'West Coast 2.0' offense and will be keeping up the tempo as they work on their new scheme.
Don't expect Eli Manning to be on the field long, but he does have some experienced signal callers behind him with the potential of racking up some nice numbers. Curtis Painter and Ryan Nassib both backed up Manning last season, and among the three of them, I definitely think getting to 20 is a reasonable expectation.
Buffalo will start with second year starter EJ Manuel, but don't go to the fridge much early or you might miss him, too. However, I liked what his backup, Jeff Tuel, brought to the table last season. In front if him on the depth chart is also four-year veteran Thaddeus Lewis. Those two are battling it out for the backup spot to Manuel, and again, all three QBs put together give Buffalo a good chance to also post a couple TDs and perhaps kick a field goal or two. Those would help this game get to the magical number of 37.
Next week we'll delve further into how to make money during the pre-season, and you'll see for yourself how profitable it can be. For now, just play this game over and start the football season off right.
