LSU Breaks Out the Turnover Towel Against Miami

There's no shortage of artery cloggers in the AT&T Stadium concessions stands, but corn dogs aren't on the menu.

Bayou Bengals fans went home happy, anyway.

Very happy, as a matter of fact. Not only because their beloved LSU Tigers throttled Miami, 33-17, and not necessarily because their defense did what Tiger defenses do.

Everyone associated and involved with LSU football was ecstatic because it appears they finally -- finally -- have a big-game QB.

Joe Burrow damn near completed half his passes -- superhuman by LSU's recent standards -- but dude got through the game with zero -- zero -- turnovers.

Meanwhile, his buds on the other side of the ball gladly accepted two gifts from the Hurricanes' Malik Rosier.

Screw the Chain.

The INTs turned this significant interconference match into a laugher until Miami got serious after the horses had left the barn:

Right. Workman-like.

That'll do for now.

Burrow came to Baton Rouge with Ohio State swagger and quickly staked his claim to the starting job.

The rubber's gonna meet the road soon enough for LSU -- they get a good-as-advertised Auburn in two weeks -- but a decent measure of angst has surely been lifted from Ed Orgeron's patootie after this victory.

Burrow's short-order development will be a major factor in keeping it that way.
