Police Report: Henderson in Possession of Drugs

It's been a few days since Marshall Henderson has been kicked off the Ole Miss basketball team.

It appears Henderson was kicked off the team for a good reason: drug use.

According to reports out of Mississippi, Henderson was caught with cocaine and marijuana back on 4 May, but the amount wasn't enough to convict him.

The Oxford Police Department wouldn't confirm or deny the reports but did say Henderson was cooperative. Sounds like confirmation to me.

Chris Herren, a former NBA basketball player about whom ESPN did a 30 for 30 documentary a few years ago about his battle with drug use, gave his opinion on what Henderson should do to correct this situation.

"Ultimately, he needs to get down to the reason why a substance is more important than yourself, your family and your future," said Herren. "Whether it's basketball, football, baseball, or any sport at a high level, the price to pay is a lot of pressure. That's why he needs to incorporate some balance in his life and surround himself with people who have the same dream he does."

Henderson said on Twitter that he indeed talked to Herren and that "Talkin with chris herren can make ya feel alot better!!" (hashtag #notgoinanywhere)

I wonder. Will Henderson tone down his brash attitude long enough to not only listen to advice but actually get some help?

Sounds like he needs it.
