Tickets Please: Rudy Gay's Friend Wanted to See Raptors-Lakers Game without Rudy Gay

When Rudy Gay found out he'd been traded to the Kings, he wanted a refund on tickets purchased for friends attending the 8 December Raptors-Lakers tilt.

One of Gay's entourage, though, delved deep into his own pocket to ensure he still got to see the game:

"I paid out Rudy myself," said Myron D'Shamwow, associate of Gay and noted subject matter expert on black holes. "I'd rather watch a Washington Generals lay-up drill than see Rudy in a Raptors uni again."

"He killed ball movement. He killed chemistry. He stunted development of Toronto's young bigs. In a nutshell, he turned the team Gay."

"When the chance came along to see the boys minus the ball hog, I wasn't going to let it slip. I handed my cash over, took that ticket and pointed in the direction of Sacramento."

"He's Shaq's problem now."

Um, you are friends with Gay, yes?

"You bet. Have been since childhood."

The way you're talking ... It doesn't sound particularly friendly.

"We can separate what happens on and off the court. Away from the game, he's a lovely guy, gives to charity, good to his mother ... On the hardwood, he's Enron."

Minus Gay, the Raptors snapped a five-game losing streak, besting LA on a night when comeback Kobe Bryant did his level best to conterfeit the ousted swingman.

Perhaps the Black Mamba is purchasing a ticket to Sac-town, too.
