Ray Allen Was Noticeably Absent from the Celtics Reunion

Maybe time doesn't heal all wounds, after all.

And absence might not make the heart grow fonder.

Whatever expression you prefer, the core group of the 2008 NBA champion Boston Celtics have clearly not forgiven Ray Allen for leaving the fold.

How do we know this?

Well, this video may shed some light on the subject:

A Celtics reunion was held on the set of Area 21, a Kevin Garnett vehicle on TNT that may or may not house evidence of alien life on this planet.

We can address that at a later date.

In the meantime, let's focus on Allen.

The 2008 Celtics core, including Garnett and Paul Pierce, among others, don't seem to begrudge Allen leaving in and of itself.

The issue seems to be the manner in which he departed, and of course, the subsequent ring-chasing with the Miami Heat, who just happened to be the Celtics' primary Eastern Conference rival at the time.

The two teams had waged a seven-game war in the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals before the Heat finally prevailed.

Allen subsequently fled to Miami, apparently without a word to any of his teammates.

Here he is back in Boston for the first time in a Heat uniform:

It initially appeared that Allen had responded with some passive aggressive snark following the televised reunion:

However, it looks like this was in fact the result of a very amusing hack job:

Riiight.

Perhaps one day, Jesus Shuttlesworth will be allowed to sit at the cool table again.

Now, how could anyone stay angry at this dude?
