NBA Finals: Durant's Signature Shot Dooms the Cavaliers
Well, if Cleveland wants another shot at making history, there's no time like the present.
Last season, LeBron James & Co became the only club to rebound from a 3-1 deficit and claim an NBA title.
Only five teams in sports have ever risen from the ashes to win a playoff series after being down, three games to none.
Of those, the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs are the sole team to do it in a finals.
Tall order.
Especially when their opponent is seeking a bit of history, themselves, as the only team to win 16 straight games in a single post-season.
Of course, for the Golden State Warriors, there's a revenge factor, too.
That's right. To the Dubs, it's not a dish served cold.
And in Game 3, it was Kevin Durant stepping up when the rubber met the road to inform the Cavs that they just got served:
Game, set, and ... RIP, Yogi.
Just when it looked like Cleveland was ready to repeat last year's formula of defending home court to blunt Golden State momentum, Dub defense clamped down.
- The Cavs were held scoreless for the final 1:23.
- They were leading by four points at the time.
In the midst of it, Durant calmly pulled up from the suburbs and presented his poster moment for all eternity:
Now LeBron and Craig Ehlo finally have something in common.
Durant exorcised many demons -- justified or not -- with that drainage.
And with one more victory, he's have something, at least once, in common with Michael Jordan.
