Is Double-Dipping a Triple-Double Dangerous or a Nasty Habit?

When it comes to dipping our favorite snacks, we take offense when someone does it twice in a row.

Why?

Germs, maybe?

Socially oblivious, possibly?

Maybe both.

We all fear that bacteria will spread and someone's infectious disease will take us down.

For no other reason than to see if Russell Westbrook accomplishes the double triple-double, I'll be watching him try to grab 16 rebounds aganist the Memphis Grizzlies.

Why is this relevant?

If the former UCLA Bruin accomplishes it, then the cascade of questions will begin:

  • Which year was more impressive?
  • Why isn't the team improving?
  • Is Westbrook selfish, just trying to rack up stats?
  • Ranch or salsa?

So on Wednesday, we'll discover where this ongoing discussion goes as to  what happens when you double-dip a triple double.

Yes, it's a mouthful, but will it be an infectious germ that brings a team with a decent complement of potential Hall of Fame players to down to nothing but a mediocre team, or will it be a beneficial transfer of talent from one player to the rest of the team?

Whichever, it sure seems like one dude going overboard just to be the answer to a trivia question someday.
