Stoke City’s New Boss Opens with a Win

Stoke City knows it's destined to be a mid-table club.

It's profitable, and trophies aside, that's the point.

Sure, maybe there will be a season when the Miracle Fairy will anoint them like she did Leicester City a couple of years ago, but that's not how a solid business model is built.

 

It start with a manager who can deliver home victories on a consistent basis.

So, when new manager Paul Lambert quickly stuffed his first three points in the bag, he and the club got the start from him they wanted.

The three points came at the expense of newcomers Huddersfield Town, who fell at bet365 Stadium to a comfortable Potter cushion of 2-0.

Stoke can boast some of football's loudest fans, and they got what they wanted when brilliant team play finally broke a scoreless deadlock and led to Joe Allen getting on the board:

 

Allen's usually known for his precise passing skills, but why not be known for a goal or two?
