Manchester United's Having Quite the Week

They say a two-goal lead is the the most dangerous one in football.

However, the way Ole Gunnar Solskjær has his Red Devils firing on all cylinders right now, two-goal leads only look daunting to their opposition.

Being real, Manchester City was fortunate they were only down by two when they tried to make a game of it in the waning minutes before falling, 1-2, to their cross-city rivals.

Manchester United's in Mojo City right now. Dudes dispensed with Tottenham Hotspur in the midweek, and now they've racked up their second road victory in the Premiership season.

For the record, lowly Norwich was the first, and while this one at the Etihad may have been worth the same three points, but it was so much more satisfying.

The first half-hour was United roll throught the stadium like a crossfire hurricane:

Seems like the only person who can stop Marcus Rashford these day is Marcus Rashford. Dude was everywhere, and when there were other spaces available, Anthony Martial filled them quite nicely.

Toss in the service they were getting, and Solskjær's turning down the heat on his players by telling them to enjoy and express themselvs on the pitch is paying dividends at the moment.

Amazingly, virtually every stat other than the score favored City.

As shots on target indicate, they just couldn't get past United's resistance at the end.

The only one that did was due to Nicolás Otamendi slicing through to get his head on a well-placed corner:

Believe it or not, this was United's first set of back-to-back victories since last March.

Dudes hadn't really been as free-flowing as this since they laid a five-spot on Cardiff back when Solskjær was hired as an interim manager.

United's now within five points of a Champions League invitation, what with Chelsea's loss at Everton:

If City can make a charge to defend their back-to-back Premiership titles by achieving a three-peat, they'll make history. No team has ever overcome a 14-point deficit like they have now.

Meanwhile, the next step for Solskjær & Co, of course, it keeping the mojo at hurricane force.
