Manchester United Rebounds from Frustration

After a mortifying misfortune at Huddersfield Town, there's daylight once again for the Red Devils.

This was probably the best time for a League Cup tie to pop up on Manchester United's schedule -- as if José Mourinho ever thinks there's a best time -- if only to put some distance behind that upset.

Still, United has other priorities, and Mourinho made seven changes for this match.

Point made. United were never really challenged by Swansea, as the 0-2 result flattered the struggling Welsh side to deceive.

Jesse Lingard was one of the four holdovers from the Huddersfield disaster to stay in Mourinho's starting XI, and he made good in this one, big time.

Here's his effort in the 21st minute:

That's only a basic reaffirmation to his of what he can do. His manager's just glad he's finally shown it.

The hero in that play, though, was Ander Herrera. What a laser-like pass to set it up!

Hopefully, that'll get him outta Mourinho's doghouse.

Two is better than one, so Lingard secured his brace in the 59th minute with a top-quality header:

Damn. That was a long-range heatseeker.

Indeed, even today's top strikers would be hard-pressed to score a header like that.

United host Spurs this Sat 28 Oct. Odds are Lingard will be front and center.
