Manchester City Take Frustrations Out on Cardiff

After being ambushed at home by Lyon in the Champions League, the least this crew could do is give their faithful a better show.

In that respect, this wasn't the time for a side like Cardiff to show up at the Etihad.

Manchester City was loaded for bear, and their response was a 5-0 destruction of the hapless Bluebirds.

As if it was the Welsh side's fault City looked horrendous earlier in the week.

As usual, City was dominant in ball possession as Cardiff were holding back and waiting for a chance to counter-attack. However, it was clear that dam was gonna breach early and often.

The tactic lasted until the 34th minute when the homeboys broke the deadlock through Sergio Agüero. The Argentine was sighted insidethe box by Bernardo Silva and duly fired home:

Three minutes later, City doubled the lead with a looped backward header from the Silva, after a spiffy cross from Leroy Sané:

Then, in the 44th, the Citizens got to their third through Ilkay Gündoğan.

Raheem Sterling got possession, drove forward, and served up a special delivery, where the German proceeded to arc his shot into top corner from the area's edge:

Well, barring wars the like, no.

But, what the hell. The show must go on.

Like in the 67th, when Riyad Mahrez made it to the stat sheet. After a low cross from Gündoğan, the Algerian merely needed to add a simple touch into an empty net:

The last thing City needed was help, but Bruno Manga gave them some, anyway.

Dude tried to make a backpass, and Mahrez intercepted. The finish was a piece of cake:

This was an emphatic three-pointer, indeed.

But City's still 0-0-1 in the UCL. They've got some work to do. If they care to, of course.
