Lucas Moura's Hatter Leads Tottenham Past Huddersfield

With Harry Kane likely done for the season, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino needed to see someone step up like this.

Lucas Moura surely delivered, scored three times against relegated side Huddersfield.

Sure, this was the Premiership's version of shooting fish in a barrel, but the way Spurs have been tossing points away lately, they weren't actually looking for a Match of the Day.

The 4-0 smackdown suited them just fine.

It's not a news flash that Tottenham dominated throughout the whole game.

The first minute that mattered was No 24. That's when Fernando Llorente fed Victor Wanyama, who showed his class to round goalkeeper Ben Hamer and fire home:

A mere three minutes later, Spurs found their second.

Moussa Sissoko had space to drive forward and assist Moura. The Brazilian started his particular show with an outstanding finish:

After the break, Llorente was the one who had the best chances but no breakthrough.

Instead, the spotlight shone on this game's man of the moment. In an 87th-minute counter-attack, Christian Eriksen crossed to Moura from the right. Dude took care of business and then upped his celebration routine:

Moura's hat trick became a fait accompli five minutes later, when the Terriers would've preferred to have been back in the locker room.

South Korean international Heung-Min Son slid a dish into the Brazilian's path inside the area, and the rout was complete.

The result kept Tottenham in third place, barely ahead of Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, it marked the 26th time in 34 matches for Huddersfield Town. That's Championship material if ever there was any.
