Everton Misses Richarlison, and It Shows
It's a good thing the Toffees have secured the services of Brazilian striker Richarlison for four more seasons after this one.
If his deal had been up in the spring, dude's agent could probably extract even more dosh outta Everton.
The club looked totally lost without him as they moseyed their way to an aimless 1-1 draw with Huddersfield.
Thus, if Everton thought they could manage this and the West Ham match without him, they now know they're mistaken.
Not that it's the Toffs' fault Richarlison is cooling his jets for two matches.
You'd think that if anyone knows when they're being set up for an okey-doke, it'd be a Brazilian.
If that wasn't bad enough, no one else stepped up.
This match also marked the debut of Lucas Digne in Premiership. Frankly, Everton can be thankful for it.
The visiting Terriors were first on the board. In the 34th minute, after a corner, Everton’s defense totally botched a clearing attempt. Dudes only managed to help Philip Billing, who rifled a header that caught English 'keeper Jordan Pickford going the other way:
Duly awakened, Everton equalized two minutes later.
Newcomer Digne left Adama Diakhaby on the floor after a shifty dribble and followed with a perfect cross to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who targeted the right corner, making it impossible for Jonas Lossl to save:
Nothing much else to report, except that during the international break, the Toffees might want to spend some quality time getting to know each other before meeting bottom-feeder West Ham.
The Terriers, meanwhile, got outta town with a gift point.
