Veteran OL Kyle Long Provides Valuable Leadership for Bears' Rookie During Practice
The grind of an NFL training camp can become pretty tedious, especially with the grueling regular season looming.
With this in mind, we must credit Kyle Long for keeping things lively at Chicago Bears headquarters.
The longtime veteran OL has been quite helpful during camp, really going out of his way to mentor certain rookies as they navigate their new environment.
For example, he decided to spend some quality time with rookie DE Jalen Dalton at a recent practice, providing critical one-on-one instruction.
Yes, that's one way to describe it.
Quite a practice for Bears RG Kyle Long tonight. Got into a scrap with rookie DE Jalen Dalton. Took Dalton’s helmet and starting hitting him with it. Then chucked it down the field. Was pulled from practice.

Oh, and then Long barfed a couple times on the sideline.
Good Lord.
That's definitely not a good look, but the barfing was a nice touch.
Head coach and vulgar lounge singer Matt Nagy wasn't pleased with the helmet swinging or the vomiting.
Matt Nagy says preseason scuffles happen, but Kyle Long’s recent one “was at a different level.”

In fact, Long was asked to stay home while the Bears traveled flew to New York for another meaningless pre-season scrimmage.
This wouldn't be the first time the offspring of Howie Long has caused a ruckus.
There was even an incident with DE Akiem Hicks earlier in the week, although that one was only verbal in nature.
Why, his own brother isn't even safe.
Anyway, the helmet toss has become something of a lost art in the modern NFL.
Let's pour one out for Kyle Turley.
