The Cowboys Fire OC Scott Linehan, Because He Was Definitely the Problem
The Dallas Cowboys have finally figured out what's apparently been holding them back since 2014.
Yes, they've eradicated the virus that was OC Scott Linehan.
And in typical Cowboys fashion, they handled the situation with the upmost professionalism.
Wait, that may not be entirely accurate.
Linehan was shown the door on Friday, despite the fact that head coach Jason Garrett had publicly stated on Monday that his job was safe.
This is the type of consistency we have come to expect from the staff at JerryWorld.
Somehow, Garrett remains employed as an NFL head coach after eight seasons and a whopping two playoff wins.
They could be keeping him around for his brilliant in-game strategy and ability to make adjustments on the fly, but we suspect it's some sort of blackmail scenario.
Garrett certainly has earned the respect of his former players.
Hey @realjerryjones! Bout time for a coaching change don’tcha think?! 2 playoff wins in 10 years!! Garrett isn’t the answer & NEVER will be! Way to compete guys!! #realtalk

This was after the Rams had easily dispatched the Cowboys in the NFC divisional round.
And here's Dez Bryant with some thoughts on the subject.
Honestly, there should be a weekly panel show that features former Cowboys totally dedicated to eviscerating the organization.
Garrett seemed pretty broken up about the mutual parting with Linehan:

Well, if he was such a positive influence, perhaps he could have stuck around.
What a shitshow.
