The Browns are Amused by the Mere Thought of Hue Jackson
It seems abundantly clear that the Cleveland Browns improved simply by asking Hue Jackson to leave the team facility forever.
The now twice-failed NFL head coach was very likely damaging top pick Baker Mayfield just by being in close proximity to him.
Fortunately for Jackson, he remains friends with Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis, who in a fit of charity took his pal on as a special assistant.
Jackson and his penetrating coaching acumen will be facing his old team this week in a hotly anticipated AFC North showdown.
The idea that their former coach couild possibly have a tactical advantage against them was actively scoffed at by several Browns.
Here's Mayfield, who without question benefitted the most from Jackson's departure.
#Browns QB Baker Mayfield on whether Hue knowing their offense could be advantage for #Bengals: "No....(asked why)...just no."

That droll reply pretty much sums up the situation.
Coach Jackson is here for our amusement, and we are all better people for it.
In fact, Mayfield wasn't the only Brown to scoff at this notion:
Browns OL Joel Bitonio says perceived advantage Bengals will have against Browns because of Hue Jackson’s knowledge of offense/defense no different than going up against a former teammate.

While that dude was a bit more diplomatic than Mayfield, the main thesis stands.
Not one single soul is genuinely concerned about Hue Jackson.
It looked like OL Joel Bitonio was about to burst into a fit of laughter.
And who could blame him?
It makes perfect sense that Jackson would land in Cincinnati again, as his continued NFL employment is about as mystifying as the lengthy tenure of Marvin Lewis.
What a tease.
