Relax Everyone, Jimmy Garoppolo Is Actually Not So Bad After All

Unfortunately, overreactions in sports happen all too often, with opinions being shaped or changed based on one single game.

When this sort of mindset is practiced in the NFL pre-season, it makes us sigh audibly.

Jimmy Garoppolo saw his first game action since that pesky ACL tear last week in Denver, and it really didn't go well at all.

If anyone out there is into torture porn, then you might want to pay attention:

That really couldn't have gone much worse, with the possible exception of Bradley Chubb smashing a pie in his face.

Or a wrench.

Try not to stare directly at those numbers.

While the single and looking Jimmy GQ was under some duress on a few of those throws, he did look mighty tentative back there, which of course makes perfect sense when you consider the injury.

Flash forward one week, and wouldn't you know it, the 27-year-old 49ers savior looked much more comfortable in Kansas City against the Chiefs:

It certainly helps when your protection holds up, and that smooth background track really seemed to agree with him.

The numbers are also much easier on the eyes.

So let's put away the gratuitous overreactions, at least until the regular season begins.
