Let's Enjoy a Vintage Andy Reid Tall Tale
Apparently, football people take great pleasure in telling Andy Reid stories.
Chicago Bears head coach and former Reid underling Matt Nagy seems to talk about him without warning and regardless of context.
An ESPN scribe named David Fleming has done the planet a huge solid by compiling a whole bunch of these stories into one wildly entertaining oral history.
Teamed up with @dapper_feller, @Tim_McManus & NFL Nation to produce another truly epic oral history (two words: shotput cannonball) this time on Andy Reid as he approaches the 200-win milestone. https://t.co/je5V7qo9uL

We're prepared to share one of them now.
Back in the early- to mid-90's, the current Chiefs head coach was an offensive assistant on the Packers staff along with Steve Mariucci.
The pair became quite close during this time, even sharing an office.

That's some collection of NFL lifers right there.
Anyway, they also shared many a meal, including one at the Prime Quarter steakhouse near Lambeau Field:

Just wow.
Apparently, this was no ordinary meal, as these two hearty fellas each ordered a 40-ounce steak appropriately named The Beefeater.
According to Mooch, the big guy polished that bad boy off in 19 artery-clogging minutes.
Meanwhile, the former Niners coach clocked in at 30 minutes.
That must have been some night.
We can only assume they threw in some Paul Bunyan hats for the kids.
