Kaepernick's Gonna Pay Minneapolis Protesters' Legal Bills
It's not like dude was ahead of his time, because that time had well and truly come long, long ago.
Colin Kaepernick had come up with a starkly simple gesture to symbolize the seemingly never-ending stream of institutional violence against blacks.
It once again opened national eyes that'd become glazed-over as the John Carlos-Tommie Smith Olympic salute of defiance faded into a cognitive fog.
Like them, he paid dearly for it.
Still does.
No matter how he shows, it's tough to tell whether his alleged banishment from the NFL is due to his skills status or social stance.
Currently, The Shield's got PR cover in this regard because Cam Newton remains outta work, but knowing that crowd, it'll find a way to step in it sooner or later.
If there was a flaw in Kaepernick's messaging strategy, it was making it with the national anthem as a backdrop. This allowed spinmeisters with a different agenda to hijack it for their own divisive and distractive purposes.
However, the truth was out there.
MURDERED BY POLICE = NO CONVICTIONS #TakeTheKnee

Take A Knee has NOTHING to do with the FLAG or the TROOPS, That's a GOP False Narrative pic.twitter.com/Df97uwHIN6
While hoping more citizens get the message loud and clear, Kaepernick continues to use his NFL and endorsement earnings to further the cause.
He's just announced that his Know Your Rights Camp charity will cover the legal costs of civil rights protesters in Minnesota who've been arrested at the ever-growing demonstrations to curb unaccountable police actions.
When civility leads to death, revolting is the only logical reaction.

The cries for peace will rain down, and when they do, they will land on deaf ears, because your violence has brought this resistance.
We have the right to fight back!
Rest in Power George Floyd
Dude may never run with or throw a football in the NFL again, but he's making the sorta difference in a much larger and more significant challenge that's helped rekindle a rallying point.
Kaepernick's endured more than his share of personal difficulty to express his convictions. It's clearly inspired many.
Hopefully, it'll continue to make many others uneasy enough to understand what his message really means.
