Eli Manning Verbally Checkmates OBJ with the Truth

At some point, the verbal sparring between Odell Beckham Jr and his former team will presumably end.

But today isn't that day.

The New York Giants recently weighed in on the OBJ GQ interview with their own narrative.

Well, Eli Manning in particular.

 

Among other things, OBJ strongly insinuated that it was his star power alone maintaining the popularity of a mediocre Giants team.

Or as he put it, keeping New York's brand alive.

Of course, he's probably right, but we must soldier on.

 

Obviously, Eli and his two Super Bowl rings took exception to this version of events, and he responded with a stinging rebuke.

Actually, more of a mild suggestion.

 

Go easy, sport.

 

That would qualify as animated for Eli, but he does have one thing going for him.

The truth, ladies and gentlemen of the jury.

This would be one of those cases where both parties are correct, but Manning doesn't seem particularly concerned about it.

You may be wondering what the brilliant Dave Gettleman thinks about all this.

 

Incredibly, he's sort of right as well.

This much we do know.

Eli and OBJ will never dance together again.

 

And that is the real tragedy.
