Seriously, Duke Just Won a College Football Game by 35 Points on the Road

While the Duke football program is perfectly respectable, it's still somewhat jarring when they do something like they did on Friday night.

The Blue Devils invaded Blacksburg and not only beat Virginia Tech on the road, but embarrassed them to the tune of 45-10.

That score just doesn't correspond with anything we've observed or been taught.

However, as dominant as this performance was, the Hokies were more than a little complicit.

 

Please survey the damage at your leisure:

 

This was never really a game at any point, which is so very sad if you have any allegiance to the Hokies.

Those sneaky Blue Devils even faked a punt from midfield in the fourth quarter, up 28 points, so there's that.

 

 

This isn't an aberration either, as the Hokies lost their opener at Boston College.

You may recall that the very same Eagles lost at home to Kansas two weeks later.

 

Beleaguered Tech head coach Justin Fuente displayed a firm grasp of the obvious afterwards:

 

Of course, this went over real well with an increasingly frustrated fan base:

 

 

Sadly, this does appear to be the case.
