Seriously, Duke Just Won a College Football Game by 35 Points on the Road

While the Duke football program is perfectly respectable, it's still somewhat jarring when they do something like they did on Friday night.
The Blue Devils invaded Blacksburg and not only beat Virginia Tech on the road, but embarrassed them to the tune of 45-10.
That score just doesn't correspond with anything we've observed or been taught.
However, as dominant as this performance was, the Hokies were more than a little complicit.
Please survey the damage at your leisure:
This was never really a game at any point, which is so very sad if you have any allegiance to the Hokies.
Those sneaky Blue Devils even faked a punt from midfield in the fourth quarter, up 28 points, so there's that.
Duke successfully fakes a punt leading 38-10 in the fourth quarter. Huh

Fake punt! Duke pouring it on. That's got to be demoralizing for the #Hokies. Special teams not immune from this woodshed beating.

This isn't an aberration either, as the Hokies lost their opener at Boston College.
You may recall that the very same Eagles lost at home to Kansas two weeks later.
Beleaguered Tech head coach Justin Fuente displayed a firm grasp of the obvious afterwards:
Justin Fuente: "Obviously we're not ready or not at the point where we can compete and play and have a chance to win against that team we played tonight. That's my responsibility and my fault." #Hokies

Of course, this went over real well with an increasingly frustrated fan base:
No shit Sherlock. And the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. What else ya got for us coach?

That's ok Justin. Just one game. Bounce back next week..... Haha... Just kidding... You're ruining this program.

Sadly, this does appear to be the case.
